On my Way to Speak in Grand Rapids Michigan

by Steve Ray on July 19, 2009

249079651_34fcb74ad5I will be sharing my conversion story at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Grand Rapids Michigan. Looking forward to meeting with all these enthusiastic Catholics excited to learn more and to serve Our Lord.

After that we go up nnorth in Michigan to stay with Janet’s family a few days and to visit the Shrine of the Cross in the Woods with the world’s largest crucifix. We’ll stop in and visit Baraga Catholic Radio — the local Catholic radio station — and maybe I’ll do a live segment with them.

I’ll spend every free minute writing the CSS Bible study on 1 & 2 Corinthians. I’ll also keep the blog updated.

Steven–Just wanted to thank you for your presentation last night here in G.R. I was also raised Baptist, by wonderful parents, but also ended up Catholic–albeit with a 15 year detour as an Episcopalian. When you described you and your wife’s reasons for being Catholic I could totally relate–the lack of authority and moral stance in the Episcopal church is apalling. At this point I’m just hoping that my parents and I will be able to have more open discussions about being Catholic than we have so far. They did not approve of what I did. Also, my wife is staying Episcopalian (she was raised Catholic).
One more thing: I’m glad the energy you have in giving your testimony didn’t go away when you converted. It reminded me of my Baptist days! Dave Shaw
