My Letter to Cancel Newsweek

by Steve Ray on August 4, 2009

070716_Cover.standard“Dear Editors of Newsweek Magazine:

“I am a documentary producer, writer, lecturer, guide for trips around the world. I’ve subscribed to your magazine for many years, but you have drifted soooo far to the Left you’ve become nothing more than Obama’s Rag Sheet.

“I’m disgusted with your liberal perspective, your anti-Christian bias, your big government bent, your pro-abort and anti-moral propoganda — and your general lack of any real or objective news. How far you’ve fallen!

“From now on I will get my news from more balanced and objective sources. Please cancel my subscription immediately.”

Looks Like the Veneer is Wearing Thin

This billboard showed up in Los Angeles. It is spreading and has gone “viral” on some websites.

For more about it visit these links found on the Drudge Report which I posted below.

‘Politically mean spirited and dangerous’…

FLASHBACK: VANITY FAIR published Bush as Joker art…

Frankly, I think there is truth to the poster when you consider current events. Our country is being betrayed, our children’s future mortgaged, our morals sold out and the unborn and elderly are in more danger than ever.

Not looking forward to today

by Steve Ray on August 4, 2009

I went in for my yearly physical. I am 54 years old. The doctor said my exercising and eating better has made me healthy. Good cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure.

colonoscopybest-2But then he asked the dreaded question: “Have you gotten your colonoscopy yet?” He started asking that when I turned 50. I kept putting it off. I hate clinics and hospitals. But he got quite insistent.

Yesterday I could eat no food. I could only drink clear liquid. Starting at 1 PM I started taking Dulcolax pills and starting at 5 PM I began drinking two quarts of GatorAde with a whole bottle of MiraLAX mixed in. I didn’t enjoy the day. I didn’t enjoy the night.

Now it is 8 AM and I am heading to the Gasto-intestinal clinic. I’m not enjoying this morning!

But it is nice to know I won’t have to do this again for another five years. If you are over 50 and aren’t getting physicals and drinking laxatives all day, you really should. They say it is good for you. If I can do it, you can do it.

And you better do it before Obamacare kicks in.

Keeping Updated on Moral and Political Issues

I found out Jimmy Akin uses Instapundit. I had never heard of it — but checked it out yesterday. It looks pretty good. You can be an instant pundit here. What is nice is he keeps it up to date by the hour and has short entries regarding important matters. You may find it helpful.
