Big Day Begins!

by Steve Ray on August 13, 2011

UPDATE: Just finished – almost 6 hours of talking followed by Q & A. Exhausted but exhilarated. Great, enthusiastic crowd.
My big day of talks at Westminster Cathedral begins. Deep breath!

Full house!

Enjoyed a fantastic conference. THANK YOU and Janet too. You must be exhausted. We are so blessed to have attended. Please come back to England.

I was present at this conference and came away with my faith refreshed and inspired.

I, too, converted to Catholocism at the beginning of my adult life and have always felt that many Catholics need to be ‘converted’ in order to appreciate the wealth of treasures we have in The Church and Faith, A conference like today’s will go a long way in acheiving this aim thanks to Steve and his in depth explanation of various tenets of our faith, profoundly and meticulously researched and delivered with humour and fascinating detail leaving you wanting to know more

After the conference I attended mass (Vigil of the Assumption) in the cathedral and, was pleased to be able to make sense of the first reading from information which I had learned today. It was from the Old Testament and referred to the Ark of the Covenant,, At least I wasn’t thinking ‘What on earth has THIS to do with Our Lady?!’.

Today I made a commitment to myslelf: to begin to study the Faith in depth so that I will be more equipped to share it with others.I am currently exploring the possibility of a Vocation to the Ministry and I believe Steve’s books will be on my essential reading list!

All I can add is ‘Thank you Steve and Janet for re-inspiring me’ words which seem totatlly inadequate!

Thank you thank you thank you Steve and Janet. Wow, what a day. Being italian, I’ve always been catholic and obviously never met a baptist or protestant there. Only here in London I’ve come to appreciate my true faith. And yet, it’s so easy to hide behind the fear of not being able to defend the one Faith. Hide behind ‘respect’ for others. Thank you for giving me back the pride of being catholic. What a gift you and Janet have! I hope one day (hopefully not too far) I’ll be able and brave enough to share your blessed, proud, knowledgeable, contageous and bold enthusiasm in proclaiming the Truth to the world from the ship. As a (small) start, I’m planning to watch your dvds with my friends from the young adults group of my parish. Thank you so much again. God bless you always.

Steve…following on form a fantastic conference this past Saturday, armed with pride (and growing knowledge) of my Catholic Roots, buoyed by your enthusiasm and example, I experienced my first opportunity to defend The Faith at my front door this morning.
Faced with two friendly and ‘accepting of my beliefs’ kind of Christians, I defended my Faith with conviction and confidence, being able to debate for more than 45 mins!!! I know the Holy Spirit was with me. I never faltered, and came away even more enthusiastic to tell the truth about Catholicism.
proud to be Catholic.
