Advent in Rome, Assisi, Lanciano and Manoppello!

by Steve Ray on July 12, 2019

This December 3-12 we travel to Italy for Advent! But you are home in plenty of time for Christmas! This is a unique, one-bus intimate pilgrimage and Advent Adventure!

From the airport, we drive straight to the Medieval city of Assisi to celebrate St. Francis who started the tradition of creche scenes to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Two nights in Assisi before arriving for Mass in front of the 8th century Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano where we spend the night. You step up close to see heart muscle and blood clots.

Then all roads lead to Rome! This is a delightful time of year with the city all abuzz with the Christmas season and with special opportunities for advent shopping. St. Peters is decorated for Christmas with the huge manger scene.

You will see all the highlights of the Eternal City including Mass at the Tomb of St. JP II, Vatican Museums, a walking tour of Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and more.

banner-2You will tour Ancient Rome and Christian Rome with the best possible guide – Liz Lev! She also gives us a slide show on the Sistine Chapel before we take the tour. See her in action here. We also have a wine tasting class and a cooking class prepared for you!

Each night we have dinner in Steve and Janet Ray’s favorite restaurants with wine included. Our Michelangelo Hotel is a 5-minute walk from St. Peters!
