It was a great joy to witness my nephew Chris Zywicki being received into full communion in the Catholic Church today — on Easter. I was very surprised a year ago that he told me he had read Crossing the Tiber and was starting to go to Mass.
Chris is a very bright man, a veteran of the military, and an excellent social worker who does it because he delights in helping people. His wife Terry is a great wife and mom and runs a local business. They have both done a lot of running and physical fitness and are in excellent shape. (Chris inspired me to get in better shape last year!)

Interestingly enough, Bishop Murray — who celebrated the Mass and confirmed my nephew and gave him first communion — was the first to read my book Crossing the Tiber. He was the chancellor of my diocese of Lansing. He read Crossing the Tiber and gave it his Nil Obstat and recommended that our bishop give me the Imprimatur. Now it was that book that played a part in my nephew coming into the Church, received by the very man who first read and approved my book. The good bishop said today after Mass, “It is a powerful story!”
We had a nice lunch with Chris and his beautiful wife Terry and their youngest son Joe in their beautiful and cozy home among lush trees in Kalamazoo. What a joy it was! Life is so exciting as a Catholic. I just LOVE it! Happy Easter everyone!
